The Trade Union–CSO Action Alliance (TUCSAA) was officially launched on 10 November 2025 at an event organized by the WARBE Development Foundation, in collaboration with NCCWE, BILS, ITUC-BC, BFTUC, SKOP, and BOAF, with technical support from the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Embassy of Switzerland.
Held under the theme “Migration for Prosperity: Ensuring Dignity, Protection, Welfare, and Reintegration of Migrant Workers,” the launch brought together key stakeholders to address the challenges and opportunities within Bangladesh’s labour migration sector.
Speakers highlighted that over 13 million Bangladeshi workers currently work abroad, contributing more than USD 30 billion in remittances each year. Despite this immense contribution, many migrant workers continue to face systemic challenges such as low wages, limited skills recognition, trafficking risks, and inadequate reintegration support.
TUCSAA aims to bridge these gaps by fostering stronger coordination between ministries, trade unions, and civil society organizations. The alliance seeks to promote transparency, accountability, and rights-based migration governance that ensures protection and empowerment for all workers.
Discussions during the launch addressed pressing issues, including wage disparities, recruitment malpractice, access to affordable financing through Probashi Kallyan Bank, and the need for internationally recognized skills certification. Participants also emphasized tackling climate-induced displacement, trafficking, and strengthening district-level coordination and awareness to protect vulnerable migrants, particularly women.
TUCSAA represents a collective call to action—advocating for fair, inclusive, and sustainable migration governance that ensures the dignity, welfare, and reintegration of migrant workers at every stage of the migration cycle.
